Bright Moments Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?...x=3725816264037 but if you buy use the Organissimo search music box above so the board gets $$$! Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 I'm sure it's good... but I might have enough Brotzmann to work through now. Granted, most of the duo & small-group stuff is good, but those last few Tentet sides were pretty underwhelming. Quote
WD45 Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 I love hearing Brotzmann in a duo setting. This one will probably be coming to emusic. BTW, I wish I had Brotzmann's font in my computer as a TrueType file. Quote
David Ayers Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 And it's ON SALE with a discount of no less than $0.11. What more can I say? BUY BUY BUY!!! Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Will be getting this for review, it looks like, so I'll report. I mean, I guess if you like Brotzmann you know what you're getting into! Quote
David Ayers Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 I preordered this on amazon.co.uk for £9.99. It is a double CD. Thanks for the heads up. Quote
AndrewHill Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 And it's ON SALE with a discount of no less than $0.11. What more can I say? BUY BUY BUY!!! I think that link said its listed at $19.98, and the regular price is $16.09; so with the additional 11 cent discount, the total discount is $4 Quote
AndrewHill Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Oh, and yes I'll be picking this one up too, I'm also a fan of Brotz + percussion, with Han Bennick being my favorite percussionist w/ Brotz. Never heard of this other drummer that's on this set though, but that's not going to stop me from buying it. Quote
randyhersom Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 It is indeed on eMusic and a bargain at 4 downloads. Sounds good the first time through, the drummer grooves more than getting out there. I believe he was on a previous trio album, Medicina also on eMusic. <ATROCIOUS_PUN> No one will ever accuse him of robbing Peeter to pay Paal. </ATROCIOUS_PUN> Quote
Rob C Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 I bought the CDs yesterday. I like it, too. I dig what Uuskyla does here--kind of a primal, tribal-beat sort of thing. I find it very appealing. And Brotz does what Brotz does. I will say, this is probably one of the few Brotzmann records that will make you wanna dance. Recommended, if you like this sort of thing!
