A Lark Ascending Posted April 12, 2015 Author Report Posted April 12, 2015 Spring really is magical. Even in my own small garden there's something new every day. I love the Cotswolds. Lived nearby for short periods as a kid - near Gloucester at 12 and Swindon at 17. I really miss my trips to Cheltenham and Bath for the festivals in years past that took me right through that country. Pity they are full of posh people! Quote
sidewinder Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) Pity they are full of posh people! Has its plus points ! Visiting Moreton-in-the-Marsh for the first time in a long while, it was refreshing to find a high street which was not dominated by the likes of KFC, Subway Greggs, Poundland, Lidl etc etc. The folks there take a real care as to how the place looks and is presented to visitors. A real pleasure - and I can remember it being that way too nearly 40 years ago but perhaps a bit posher these days. Long may it stay that way. Admittedly though, they make you pay 20p to use the High Street conveniences. Used to be free Light years away from Swindon and Gloucester - yuck. Edited April 12, 2015 by sidewinder Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted April 12, 2015 Author Report Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) Bet Waitrose wasn't far away! (Had a quick look - the nearest one is in Call-Me-Dave Town) Also worth remembering that the people who live in Moreton-in-the Marsh are probably running KFC, Subway etc and plonking them in everybody else's back yard.
