alocispepraluger102 Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 i thought folks who walked around seeking coins were creepy, but these cats plunder new old lows. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 I think I may have posted a similar article here about privy diving a year or two ago in which they talked about how the 'pros' know when they are close to reaching the bottom of the pit when they hit what's called the 'seed layer' -- apparently, over time, all of the undigested seeds slowly make their way down, down, down... A good way to find them is by looking for old clusters of lilac or other fragrant bushes that often were planted close by to help mask the odor. Some of the older relatives in MN have old ones on the various properties and one of 'em told me last summer about seeing his father-in-law toss an antique handgun into one in the late 50's. Might be a bit too 'fresh' to go diving for that little gem.....but then again, no telling what I might do if I happen to go well over my hops & barley limit some night this summer. Quote
MoGrubb Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 ....Brater and Kalchek spend many weekends excavating 150-year-old filled-in privies ......... Brater and Kalchek don't need to mess around with 150 yo privies. Shoot, I got an almost brand new one that's still being used that they can play in. Quote
porcy62 Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 This story reminds me the American Artifact's shop in P. K. Dick's novel: The Man in the High Castle. Quote
