Aggie87 Posted March 15, 2012 Report Posted March 15, 2012 Great pictures, Kinuta (except for the Burger King!). I miss Japan - lived in Tachikawa as a kid, and loved every moment of it. And that Tower is amazing - 2nd tallest structure in the world. I remember being impressed by the "old" Tokyo Tower back in the 70's. Quote
Pete C Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 It struck me, this morning, as I was commuting to work, that there are teenagers out there, in America, in 2012, who have actually never heard of George Arliss or Guy Kibbee. Sad. Quote

Big Al Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Heard on KNTU last evening: "That was... Dexter Gordon's "Cheese Cake." Dexter Gordon on tenor sax, S... [brief pause] "SONY" Clark on piano, Butch Warren on bass, and Billy "HIDGENS" on drums." (emphasis mine) I no longer wonder how we ended up with the ClearChannels and IHeartRadios.... Quote
Pete C Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 "SONY" Clark on piano Hadn't you heard? The legacies of deceased jazz musicians are now available for corporate sponsorship. Quote
