T.D. Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 I was getting ready to place an order, but it looks like the sale is over. Quote
mikelz777 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 (edited) This one was a weekend only sale. They were going fast with around 250 titles disappearing from Saturday to Sunday. I had a couple I wanted disappear in a couple of hours from the first time I checked their listings and then trying to place an order later. I looked over their inventory again last night and felt compelled to pick up a few more. Yusef Lateef - Eastern Sounds Yusef Lateef - The Golden Flute Harold Land - West Coast Blues! Clifford Brown/Max Roach Study in Brown There would've been more, but some titles were out-of-stock. Between this and the sweet BMG deal last week, I think it's clear that I am devoid of self-control and need serious psychological help. Edited January 21, 2008 by Big Al Quote

(I just joined BMG mainly to pick up a bunch of ECMs that looked interesting.) Just looking at your list already has me regretting I didn't order that Cannonball Adderley Lighthouse date. Quote

trane_fanatic Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 (edited) For some reason, I thought that the "weekend" sale was gonna last through today (MLK Day). Had a second order ready to go yesterday, but the J&R website was down periodically and couldn't get it in. Logged back on today and it was too late. Oh well, ya can't win em all (too many titles - 850 and dropping-anyways). Edited January 21, 2008 by trane_fanatic Quote
bluesbro Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 I ordered a bunch of Ellington OJCs I had on my wish list. My order hasnt shipped yet tough, but everything was in stock when I placed it. Quote
mikelz777 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 (edited) Mine haven't shipped either. I have two orders in from the sale and they are certainly taking their sweet time in processing them. They must have a ton of orders to process. Edited January 24, 2008 by mikelz777 Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I don't think they ever have stuff "in stock" for online orders. Had this problem in the past, called and was told they were waiting for stock to arrive from "distributors". Quote
Big Al Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 I've only ordered from them twice before, and I think the wait in both cases was somewhere around three weeks or so. Oh well, at least they don't charge you until the order ships. Quote
T.D. Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 (edited) Yep, my experience with J&R is that anything that isn't "In Stock" at the time of your order has no chance of ever shipping, and will merely serve to hold the (in stock portion of the) order up for three weeks.
