Well, there's not much on the Shearing box there... except that one sir whom we'd expect to like it anyway mentioned he bought it...

I'd still be interested to read a little more about it!

I've had this since it came out - not for Shearing (who I find a bit to bright and breezy for my taste) but for Louis Stewart. The first three discs are wonderful - a mixture of standards and tunes that were contemporary at the time (e.g. C. Corea things). Disc 4 is in a + orchestration setting. Not so fond of that one.

B. Goren, I have gone through the first two discs and was very impressed. Like Bev, I got it mainly for Louis Stewart but I had not heard any Shearing before and after listening to this I don't know why people would be "anti" Shearing. It really is a trio in the classic sense and everyone gets their share of solo space, its not all Shearing, in fact Louis Stewart seems to start off alot of the tunes. I know its a MPS edition and all that but I don't think I've ever heard a guitar sound as nice before.
