mikelz777 Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) Is anyone here a fan of Quantum Leap? I was watching the DVD last night and heard a song I want to track down but unfortunately there were no song/music credits given at the end of the show. The episode was from the 2nd season and was titled "Pool Hall Blues" where Sam leapt into an aging pool shark with failing eyesight. His daughter (granddaughter?) ran the pool hall which was secured by a marker held by another pool hustler who challenged Sam's character to a winner take all pool match with the club on the line. At one point in the show, the (grand)daughter is playing at the piano when Sam's character joins her and they sing a song together. It sounded like a traditional gospel song and if I'm recalling it correctly, had a message of hope and redemption. Would anyone here happen to know what the song is? JSngry Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 You got any lyrics? I mean, a traditional gospel song with a message of hope and redemption. that kinda....leaves the door open in terms of possibilities. Quote
mikelz777 Posted December 30, 2007 Author Report Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) I guess that's almost a given isn't it? I'll have to re-watch that portion of the DVD a couple of times and write down the lyrics. Stay tuned. Edited December 30, 2007 by mikelz777 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 What is the name of the episode? They might have a clip of it on YouTube, which would make things easier. Quote

mikelz777 Posted December 31, 2007 Author Report Posted December 31, 2007 (edited) Here are the lyrics as performed in the episode. Is it very likely that this was an original song written for the show? I don't know. This had a real traditional gospel/blues sound to it. When you're feelin' down And there's trouble all around ya When it seems like nothin's gonna turn out right When you just can't see any silver linin' Put your hands together and just hold on tight He'll be there when you need some comfort He'll be there when you need a friend He'll be there when the darkness is closing all around ya (2x) But you gotta believe when you get down on your knees He'll be there to make the sun shine again He'll be there to make the sun shine again Edited December 31, 2007 by mikelz777 Quote

Matt Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 This may help: http://www.quantumwiki.co.uk/index.php?tit...#39;ll_Be_There Quote
mikelz777 Posted December 31, 2007 Author Report Posted December 31, 2007 Thanks for the link Matt. From the comment "Unofficially named 'He'll Be There'..." it sounds like it was an original song written for the episode. I was hoping it was an existing song with music and additional verses I might find somewhere. Quote
