BERIGAN Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 Driver crashes after bee flies into mouth THE ASSOCIATED PRESS DAYS CREEK, Ore. -- A Winston man told police he crashed his car after a bee flew into his mouth while he was singing along with Justin Timberlake's song "Rock Your Body" on the radio. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS? More strange stories from around the globe A Douglas County sheriff's spokeswoman said John L. Nunes, 19, was trying to get rid of the bee or yellow jacket when his car hit a tree. "I kind of panicked and went off the road," Nunes said yesterday. He was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg. "I had to get a stitch in my tongue, and I got a gash on my left ankle," Nunes said. The tongue injury was from his teeth, not the bee, he said. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/140183...beesting18.html Quote

Jazzmoose Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Reminds me of a favorite book from my youth, Wasp, by Eric Frank Russell. Good stuff. And completely off the subject... Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 That's why you should listen to jazz in the car: no vocals. Bees can't find their way into people's mouths while they're humming. Quote
maren Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 ...jazz in the car: no vocals. Are you trying to pick a fight with Bev Stapleton? He has lovely manners, but he just might get his dander up in defense of jazz vocals! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 I'm surprised he's not suing. "Man, his hooks are so catchy... it wasn't my fault!" Quote
