Big Al
Does anyone else's RVG of Flight to Jordan have a misprint on the CD? Mine has a title of A.T.'s Delight by Duke Jordan. I'll try and post a picture later. This is a sweet session, BTW. Glad it's available again, since I've never seen it or heard it before. BruceH
Now I'm glad I didn't get the RVG. I've been a big fan of this album for the last 4 or 5 years when I happened to find the Conn at a record store. Turned out to be one of the more fortuitous purchases of my life. I think it was in the Collector's Choice series as mine has the white inlay tray, which looks like that first issue of Conns from 1994. ed: I meant tray, not card. You're correct, that's the version I have. I loved that damn series, Borders used to carry them all for $9.99. That was how I first heard so many of my favorite sessions (Introducing Johnny Griffin, Chamber's Music, Easy Living, One Step Beyond, etc). David Ayers
We need to start a thread on the CCs that never made it to other reissue. I'll start with Odyssey of Iska. Umm - here's my list of the lot - I posted it here once before so sorry for the repetition. Someone with the time could edit this down to titles never subsequently reissued (or issued only in Japan): First Collector Series Art Blakey Indestructible! David Ayers
OK here are the ones I don't think have had individual US/Euro issues. Mosaics large and small are not taken into account. I might have made some mistakes. First Collector Series Hoagy Carmichael Hoagy Sings Carmichael Lambert, Hendricks & Ross The Swingers Jackie McLean One Step Beyond Horace Parlan Happy Frame Of Mind John Patton Blue John Duke Pearson Wahoo Ike Quebec Easy Living Second Collector Series Art Blakey Ritual 46585 Lou Donaldson Quartet/Quintet/Sextet 81537 Bobby Hutcherson Total Eclipse 84291 Elvin Jones Puttin' it All Together 84282 Jackie Mclean Tippin' the Scales 84427 Hank Mobley Far Away Lands 84425 Grachan Moncur Evolution 84153 James Moody New Sounds 84436 Lee Morgan The Rajah 84426 Sam Rivers Dimensions & Extensions 84261 Annie Ross Sings A Song with Mulligan 46852 Wayne Shorter Odyssey of Iska 84363 The Three Sounds Introducing the Three Sounds 46531 Stanley Turrentine Look Out 46543 Stanley Turrentine Comin' Your Way 84065 Gerald Wilson Portraits 93414 Third Collector Series Kenny Drew Walkin'/Talkin' Babs Gonzales Weird Lullaby Jim Hall Jazz Guitar Andrew Hill Eternal Spirit Elvin Jones Polycurrents Les McCann In New York James Newton The African Flower Bill Perkins Richie Kamuca Tenors Head On Bill Potts Jazz Soul of Porgy & Bess Annie Ross/Zoot Sims A Gasser George Russell The African Game Three Sounds Babe's Blues Randy Weston Uhuru Afrika/high Life Edited to remove Evans (thanks Lon). jazzbo
The two Evans became a Connoisseur. The Carmichael came out again I believe (but sank like a stone leaving no ripple). I didn't know the Hill, Gonzales and Newton were part of the series. Edited December 21, 2007 by jazzbo

I bought a few of those back in the day, but I only came across this around '02 or '03.

AndrewHill
The two Evans became a Connoisseur. The Carmichael came out again I believe (but sank like a stone leaving no ripple). I didn't know the Hill, Gonzales and Newton were part of the series. Yes, Hill's Eternal Spirit was a CC. I've seen it with that white circle sticker that said "limited edition". Can't speak for the other two.
AndrewHill
Yeah, that CC series was BOSS, back in the early nineties. Almost shit a brick to see Moncur's "Evolution" sitting in the Borders bin for $9.99. But concerning a new CC series, here are my nominations: Andrew Hill-But not Farewell-I already have it, but its so good, that I want to share the wealth Jackie Mac-Fire and Love-excellent date Jackie Mac-Hat Trick Jackie Mac-One Step Beyond- because it doesn't look like its on the RVG horizon (BTW, the TOCJ blows the McM out of the water) The Don Pullen dates, which I can't think of at the moment. The George Adams dates, which I can't think of either. The Jack Walrath date-Members of Suspence or something like that? Grachan Moncur III-Evolution-again! Grachan Moncur III-Some Other Stuff-second time 'round-its such an excellent date with Hancock/Shorter/McBee/Williams J.R Monterose-BN 1530 I'm sure there's many more that could be included. I can't get a good enough close-up with my camera to be able to show y'all right now. I'll try again later.

six string
I took another look at my RVG remaster of this cd and I can't find AT's Delight printed anywhere on the cd, booklet or cover, front or back. I wonder if they made the mistake with the initial RVG Remaster and reprinted it shortly after that. My copy is a U.S. pressing, not European.
