Great game!  The Als looked the best they have all season, especially their defense.  Cato hurt something, maybe his right hip, in the second quarter; and Tanner Marsh came in and finished the game without showing much rust.  Boris Bede missed only his second FG of the year.

During the halftime, Angelo Mosca's number was retired.  He mentioned the Ticats to whom he owed a lot, and I realized that I have met every one of them - Jake Gaudaur, Ralph Sazio, Joe Zuger, Rooster Fleming and Bob Young.  Bernie Faloney is the only other Ticat to have his number retired.

Ottawa's D had ten sacks.  Jeremiah Johnson rushed for three touchdowns.

In the second quarter Brett Smith threw an interception, and Chamblin pulled him for the rest of the game, playing Tino Sunseri.  A very controversial move!

There was a 54 kph (32 mph) wind in Regina the entire game.  For the first three quarters, the team with the wind at its back (Wpg, Sask, Sask) scored all of the points.  In the fourth, the Bombers were unable to regain the momentum they enjoyed in the first.

Brian Brohm started for the Bombers.  Throughout the week, the Winnipeg fans on the internet expressed a lack of faith in Brohm the likes of which I have never seen before.

Matt Nichols will probably start for the Bombers next week in the Banjo Bowl.

The Stamps have now beaten the Eskimos 12 straight times!  This was a great defensive battle.  The Stamps moved the ball a couple of times in the latter part of the second quarter, and were able to score a few points, enough to win it.

The Eskimos played Sean Whyte.  Franklin didn't do well, so in the second half Chris Jones put in Mike Reilly, even though it is questionable as to whether Reilly is physically ready.

Ha!  Far be it from me to defend Regina, I'm from Saskatoon...but people in glass houses in Winnepeg shouldn't throw stones.  Interesting that while Saskatoon and Regina have had pretty good growth over the last nearly 50 years since I moved to Canada, and Calgary & Edmonton even more so, Winnipeg has been pretty much stagnant - at least in population, I've never been there.
