Great ballgame! Great way to start the season!

The Als were the better team, but the Bombers had the lead most of the second half.

I noticed watching the game that Sean Whyte's pant legs do not reach down to his knees. It's like he is wearing tight bermuda shorts. His red hose covers his knees. That's the first time I've seen a player look like that.

Great see-saw battle!

Swayze Waters hurt himself, apparently pulling a leg muscle. As a result, in the third quarter Spencer Watt caught a touchdown pass and then kicked the convert!

:tup I can finally watch the games on cable again. This was a good one. Only in the CFL! Last year I thought the Ti-Cats were a better team than their record showed. I think they have a decent and competitve team again but they have to tighten up their defense.

Congrats John!

Does anyone know who was the singer who performed at halftime of Thursday's Montreal-Winnipeg game? I had a picture with no sound at the sports bar, and I didn't see any caption identifying him. If I could take a guess, I would guess Ronnie Hawkins, whom I saw at the '96 Grey Cup festivities. But it's hard to guess a singer when there is no sound!

The Stamps led 31-6 at the half. The Lions opened the third quarter with 15 quick points to cut the lead to ten and make a game of it. But the Stamps got back on track and took the momentum back.

Here is the schedule of the games to be televised in the US on NBC Sports, ESPN2 and (on the internet) ESPN3.

There are so many, I'm going to have to give serious consideration to getting cable.

Wow, that's a lot of games. Should make some more CFL fans south of the border. You know, it's obvious, I guess, but watching last night's game reminds me that the larger field really opens the game up and makes for very exciting football.

Surprise! The Bombers dominated the entire game, but had problems putting points on the board. It looks like the Bombers' D is really good.

For the Independence Day weekend, I bought six-packs of two beers that I tried for the first time last week at the sports bar - Third Shift (from Ft. Worth) and Batch 19 (a Coors product). Both are very hoppy and satisfying.

I'm listening to the Lions broadcast, and they are interviewing David Braley during the halftime break. He has just said that he expects the Argos to have their own ballpark in the next five to six years.

It was a tale of two halves. The Stampeders looked great in the first half, but didn't do much in the second.

The Riders are the only team in the league which hasn't lost yet, and that is before the second week is over!

Don't worry, they'll find a way...

Edmonton Eskimos 30....Hamilton Tiger-Cats 20

Heavy downpour for much of the game. Wet ball, often dropped.

The Eskimos scored the first sixteen points, and the Ticats never caught up.

After two weeks, the Ticats are the only winless team.
