GA Russell Posted July 10, 2012 Author Report Posted July 10, 2012 Adarius Bowman is out for the year. He tore both his ACL and MCL in his left knee yesterday. Sounds career-ending to me. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=400275 Quote

GA Russell Posted July 11, 2012 Author Report Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) I've just finished watching the video of the Argos-Stampeders game, and it was an excellent experience. My internet connection is faster than it was last year, and I can stream video without a problem now. I recommend it. The videos of the games are put up on the TSN website immediately upon the conclusion to the game. Go to the TSN website here: http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/ Scroll down midway through the page until you see the VOD Archives link. VOD stands for Video of the Day. Clicking on that link will take you to their library. You will then see a list of games available, which I think will be all of the games since the beginning of the season. If you don't want to watch the entire game, you will notice that to the right of the list of games available you will see (once you have clicked on a game) the four quarters of the game. So you can watch any or all quarters as you choose. As I recall, last year you had to watch the entire game. This situation is much better because there are always lots of games where watching the fourth quarter would be fun even though you already know who has won. In fact, that is my only objection to the process: In order to first click on the VOD archive link, you must first see the news report of who won the game. You might try this link to avoid the website's front page, but I'm not sure how long it will last. http://watch.tsn.ca/cfl-games-on-demand/#clip718395 Edited July 11, 2012 by GA Russell Quote

GA Russell Posted July 12, 2012 Author Report Posted July 12, 2012 As the link above says, Drew Tate's injury is a dislocated shoulder. I feel that this is career-threatening. GA Russell Posted July 15, 2012 Author Report Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Edmonton Eskimos 42....Winnipeg Blue Bombers 10 http://scoreboards.c...final/W1017.htm Good night for Jyles. The Eskimos built up a 32-0 lead, and coasted from there. Guess who got hurt again. This time it was his foot. ***** Saskatchewan Roughriders 23....British Columbia Lions 20 http://scoreboards.c...final/W1018.htm Great hard-fought game. The Riders are the only undefeated team left. Tristan Jackson started off the fourth quarter by returning a missed FG attempt 129 yards for the TD. 130 is the length of the field from the dead line to the goal line. Immediately before the game, the Sask premier announced that the building of a new stadium is now a definite go. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=400615 ***** Hamilton Tiger-Cats 36....Toronto Argonauts 27 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=400647 Chris Williams ran back two kicks for TDs in the first half, and caught a TD pass as well. GA Russell Posted July 15, 2012 Author Report Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Drew Tate has decided to have his shoulder operated on. He will miss at least four months, and maybe the entire season. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=400676 ***** I forgot to say this about the Argo game. Noel Prefontaine has been lousy by his standards so far. He re-injured his hip late in the second quarter, and the Argos had rookie Anthony Alix kicking in his place. Alix did fine. Now the Argos are looking at an import kicker named Swayze Waters. (That name reminds me of John Cameron Swayze putting a Timex underwater attached to an outboard motor's screws! GA Russell Posted July 18, 2012 Author Report Posted July 18, 2012 It now looks like Buck Pierce will be out four weeks. As backup tandems go, Alex Brink and Joey Elliot are as good as there are in the league, so the Bombers are as prepared as they could hope to be. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=400805 ***** Noel Prefontaine will have surgery on his hip, and will miss four to six months. GA Russell Posted July 18, 2012 Author Report Posted July 18, 2012 Jerry, that's possible, although I don't think that the NFL and the NCAA have anything to worry about. My experience at sports bars was that plenty of people would watch my Canadian league games on the tv screens during the summer when there was no other football; but after Labor Day interest in the CFL nosedived. That was also the case for the American teams selling tickets to their games in the mid-90s. Quote

The Argos led for the first three quarters. The Bombers led for most of the fourth.
