GA Russell Posted July 23, 2011 Author Report Posted July 23, 2011 Winnipeg Blue Bombers 33....Toronto Argonauts 24 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=372346 The Argos dominated the first half, and the Bombers dominated the second. The score at the break was 17-6. Quote
GA Russell Posted July 24, 2011 Author Report Posted July 24, 2011 Edmonton Eskimos 24....Calgary Stampeders 19 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=372361 Exciting game! The Eskimos got off to a big lead thanks to two long pass-and-run TD passes to Fred Stamps, and were able to hold on just long enough to win. Quote
GA Russell Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 Saskatchewan Roughriders 27....Montreal Alouettes 24 http://64.246.64.33/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4422635 Surprise! This may turn out to be the biggest upset of the season. The winless Riders go to Montreal and handle the undefeated Als (although they almost let victory slip away in the fourth quarter). After the Riders got off to a two-TD lead, they knocked Calvillo out of the game. But McPherson is good, and the Als over the course of the game rallied back. Quote
GA Russell Posted July 25, 2011 Author Report Posted July 25, 2011 I note that all four road teams won this weekend. Quote

GA Russell Posted July 26, 2011 Author Report Posted July 26, 2011 I had Bobby Kuntz's bubble gum card in 1959 when he was with the Argos. He died in February, and donated his brain to science. Here is a brief article about the results of the tests. The article does not dwell on the possible relationship between Parkinson's and blows to the head. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=372497 Quote
GA Russell Posted July 26, 2011 Author Report Posted July 26, 2011 The Bombers' assistant coach Richard Harris collapsed and died today. GA Russell Posted July 27, 2011 Author Report Posted July 27, 2011 The Riders' second round pick, an OL named Matt O'Donnell, is so big, at 6'11", 340, that he will first try out with the Boston Celtics before signing with Sask. He hasn't played basketball since high school, but the Celtics are giving him a tryout??? http://www.tsn.ca/nba/story/?id=367498 Matt O'Donnell has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/queens-offensive-lineman-signs-nfl-deal-with-bengals/article2110247/ Quote

GA Russell Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 The Eskimos have signed Reggie McNeal. It was a surprise that the Ticats won, and a bigger surprise that they led the whole way. Calvillo returned from his injury of last week, and played the whole game. Quote
GA Russell Posted July 30, 2011 Author Report Posted July 30, 2011 Edmonton Eskimos 26....Toronto Argonauts 25 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=372812 Exciting game! The Argos let this one slip away. Their defense dominated the Esks. Dalton Bell played for the Argos and looked good. Edmonton is 5-0 for the first time since 1980. Quote
