GA Russell Posted November 6, 2010 Author Report Posted November 6, 2010 Calgary Stampeders 35....Winnipeg Blue Bombers 32 http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/stamps-send-bombers-packing/article1788423/ Entertaining meaningless game. Both Joey Elliott and Drew Tate played well enough to expect them to be invited to somebody's training camp next year. Justin Palardy went 6 for 6 in FGs. The Bombers extended their league record to losing nine games by four points or less. To play nine four-point games will probably not happen again in our lifetimes, and to lose all nine of them is truly a mark for the ages! ***** Tomorrow's two games: BC plays in Hamilton first. If BC loses, they are out of the playoffs. Then Edmonton plays in Regina. If BC wins, Edmonton must win or they will be out of the playoffs. Quote
GA Russell Posted November 8, 2010 Author Report Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) British Columbia Lions 23....Hamilton Tiger-Cats 21 http://scoreboards.c.../final/W901.htm Good game. The Ticats led the entire game until Paul McCallum kicked the winning FG with 1:40 left in the game. BC's win meant that the Eskimos needed to win to make the playoffs. ***** Saskatchewan Roughriders 31....Edmonton Eskimos 23 http://scoreboards.c.../final/W902.htm Edmonton was game, but the Riders were the better team. The Riders needed to win this game too, because if they didn't they would have entered the playoffs on a five-game losing streak. Ricky Ray was back for the Eskimos. ***** Toronto Argonauts 30....Montreal Alouettes 4 http://scoreboards.c.../final/W903.htm Meaningless game played mostly with subs like a pre-season game. Danny Brannigan became the first Canadian QB to take a snap since Giulio Caravatta in '96. ***** Andy Fantuz won the receiving title. He is the first Canadian to do that since Dave Sapunjis. ***** Next week's Semi-Finals games will both be played on Sunday: Toronto at Hamilton and BC at Saskatchewan. ***** Jesse Lumsden tore his ACL. I've got to think that no one will take a chance on him again. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=340300 Edited November 8, 2010 by GA Russell Quote

GA Russell Posted November 15, 2010 Author Report Posted November 15, 2010 Toronto Argonauts 16....Hamilton Tiger-Cats 13 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W904.htm Was this a great defensive struggle? Actually, I think it was two offenses who both had bad games on the same day. I was kind of rooting for the Ticats, because I think they had a slim chance of beating the Als next week. I don't think that the Argos have any chance at all, barring injury. ***** Saskatchewan Roughriders 41....British Columbia Lions 38 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W905.htm What a game! The Riders scored 20 points in the second half to take the lead, but the Lions scored a TD on the last play of regulation to tie it at 27. The Riders won it in double overtime. I was rooting for the Lions, because they have been on a roll, and I think that they could have upset the Stampeders next week. The Riders have been in a slump, and considering how poorly their offense played in the first half today, I don't think they are going to beat Calgary. Quote

As expected, the Argos were never in it. What was a surprise was the ease with which the Als were able to move the ball against the Argos defense, which was ranked first in the league. ***** Western Final: Saskatchewan Roughriders 20....Calgary Stampeders 16 http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=CFL/scores/final/W907.htm Once again this year, the home team in the Western Final failed to win. At kickoff, the wind chill was -24C, which I think is -12F. By the fourth quarter the snow was coming down fairly heavily. As a result of the weather, it was not a error-free game. The Riders just put together more good drives. Quote
