I'll plan to get to this past weekend's games tomorrow, but for now I have some news.

adidas has agreed to be the league's uniform partner, replacing Reebok.  But adidas owns Reebok, so apparently adidas intends to have a bigger presence in Canada.

Kent Austin bumped Dave Stala after a play, when Stala was in front of the Hamilton bench.  The league has fined Austin $5,000, and he has apologized to Stala; but the union objects to the fine because it believes that if a player had bumped a coach he would have been suspended.

Tonight's Stamps-Bombers game starts at 8:30 pm eastern, so let's see how much I can do before then.

The big news news this week is that Zach Collaros, considered by many to be the leading candidate for the MOP Award, is out for the season with a knee injury.  More about that later.

First, last week's games...

Dana, consider the 1959 season when the Riders forfeited their last two games by playing too many imports.  They were 1 and 15 that year.

I haven't gone over the records, but I want to say that ever since the crossover was started, the worst record a team could have and still make the playoffs was 8 and 10.  When I see a team lose its 11th game, I figure it's out of the playoffs.

Dana, it was deliberate, and agreed upon before the games were played.  The Riders were 1-13 with the league's worst record.  So they said, "Screw it!" and added Frank Tripucka to the roster, to give the fans some value for the price of the ticket.

On Oct. 24 they lost to Edmonton 20-19, and on Oct. 26 they beat Winnipeg 37-30.  As forfeits, both games were considered losses in the standings.
