Tom Higgins may be losing control of the team. The Als scored a TD with 3:34 left to make the score 12-10. A two-point convert would have tied the score. Instead, Higgins chose to go for one point. GA Russell
OK, let's catch up quickly. BC 33....Argos 17 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4716786 The Argos came back from ten points down, but the Lions scored 20 unanswered points in the fourth. Here we are almost at the mid-point of the season, and there are a lot of offenses that seem inept. Are they, or are the defenses too good this year? GA Russell
You will recall that the NFL suspended Ricky Williams for the 2006 season for smoking marijuana. GA Russell
I attended my first CFL game the first week of August, 1976. The Ticats hosted the Riders. I had a good seat close to the front, and I can still remember Pigskin Pete leading the Oskee Wee Wee cheer. I was saddened to learn that Pete passed away Sept. 10. I see now that he was officially Pigskin Pete III, and that he has been replaced by Pigskin Pete IV. RIP. You will note that his CBC obituary says that he started in 1976, and worked through the 2006 season. My CFL encyclopedia says that I saw him in his second game! He certainly seemed to be experienced to me! http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/news/former-pigskin-pete-paul-weiler-dies-wednesday-1.2762128 http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/news/story?id=2625088 ***** After two terrific weekends, this week saw the return of boring football.
