OJ Brigance is now Baltimore's Senior Player Development Advisor. Yesterday he received this year's Halas Award for overcoming adversity. Yet another CFL alum with ALS. Something is going on, and I hope the doctors find out soon what it is.

Jim Popp says that Jamel Richardson was offered a guaranteed salary with time to recover from his injury, but he turned it down.

I believe that Ottawa let go all of their experienced kickers.

As I say every year at this time, I love the week leading up to Opening Day because everyone publishes their pre-season previews. Let's get started.

You will note that the Bombers have returned to the West this year. I remember when the Renegades folded and the Bombers returned to the East, they said that they would not go back to the West again. My thinking at that time was that they figured it would be easier to make the playoffs playing in the East. Maybe the league offered so much money to make the switch again that they couldn't turn it down.

Catching up on last weekend's games...

Stampeders 29....Alouettes 8

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4705153

It was 29-1 when the Als scored on the last play of the game. I have to think that their offense problems are related to the dismissal of Rick Worman a couple of weeks ago.

Eskimos 27....Lions 20

The Ticats were never in it. Sask rookie running back Anthony Allen had a huge day.

And the Ticats' o-line looks pretty bad. The Ticats are the youngest team in the league this year.

Bombers 36....Redblacks 28

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=456392

The Redblacks had the ball three times in the first quarter, and scored a touchdown every time. Chevron Walker scored the team's first-ever points with his touchdown.

But the Bombers clawed back, and took the lead for the first time with a little over two minutes left in the game. Bombers rookie Nic Grigsby scored three TDs, and had a great game.

Eskimos 28....Ticats 24

Great game! The Esks took the lead with a Grant Shaw FG with less than two minutes left. On the last play of the game, Ticat QB Dan LeFevour was stopped on a quarterback sneak from the two.
