the CFL should just be happy that Twitter exchange with Durant happened online instead of in a bar!

dgs, the league has fined Darian for that tweet.

Without Sheets the Riders have lost four straight. I hope that they can get it together when he comes back.

But if it had happened in a bar (I found the actual exchange online despite it having been deleted from DD's site) someone would likely be facing assault charges...I love how Rider fans are sticking up for Durant online.

Ricky Ray will dress this week, and be the Argos' third-string QB.

Zach Collaros was named the league's offensive player of the month. Usually I don't mention the weekly and monthly awards, because I am interested in what happens on the field; not in sportswriters' votes. However, this award highlights John Tapscott's point that the Argos will have a serious decision to make for the dispersal/expansion draft.

Matt Dunigan says that every one of Brian Kelly's 97 TD catches were from Hall of Fame quarterbacks. I'm guessing Tom Wilkinson, Warren Moon, Matt Dunigan and Damon Allen.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33....Toronto Argonauts 19

Upset!

As they have done for the past month, the Argos were unimpressive in the first half and came out like gangbusters in the third quarter. However, this time they were unable to maintain the momentum, and the Ticats regained control of the game.

Saskatchewan Roughriders 31....British Columbia Lions 17

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4629351

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=433455

Kory Sheets returned to the lineup and scored two TDs, so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that the Riders won and snapped their four-game losing streak. However, the Lions just didn't play very well, and I think that the Riders would have won without Sheets.

This was the Lions' first loss at home of the year, after six wins.

I listened to Rod and Carm do the Riders broadcast. At one point the crowd roared, and Rod laughed, "They've got the kiss cam here, and it's showing two guys! Welcome to Vancouver!"

*****

Montreal Alouettes 47....Edmonton Eskimos 24

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=433492

Mike Reilly started for the Eskimos despite suffering a concussion last week. The Als never trailed.

This realistically ends Edmonton's hopes of crossing over for the playoffs.

Calgary Stampeders 38....Winnipeg Blue Bombers 11

I think that everyone expected a rout, and that's what it was. Kevin Glenn was particularly sharp.

Will Ford returned a kickoff 100 yards for a TD. Here's the video.

JC Sherritt, arguably Edmonton's best player, returned to the lineup last week, and promptly re-broke his thumb. He's out indefinitely.

Calgary Stampeders 40....British Columbia Lions 26

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4630858

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=433922

The Stamps dominated the game, but seven minutes into the fourth quarter the Lions tied it at 26. The Stamps scored a TD nearly three minutes later to win it.

Saskatchewan Roughriders 14....Edmonton Eskimos 6

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4631028

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=433973

The defenses dominated, as the Riders scored all their points in the second quarter.

With one minute to go in the game, Reilly scored a TD on a quarterback sneak on third and goal to give the Eskimos the lead, but the ref waived it off, saying that Corey Chamblin had called a time out right before the snap. The Esks tried it again, and this time the Riders held.

Wikipedia says that the loss eliminated the Eskimos from playoff contention.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers 34....Montreal Alouettes 27

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4631556

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=434098

Surprise! This was not a well-played game by either team, but it was fun because the score was close.

An Als win would have clinched a playoff spot for them, and would have eliminated the Bombers from playoff contention.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats 24....Toronto Argonauts 18

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4631567

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=434115

Ricky Ray returned to the Argos. The Ticats dominated the game, but the Argos almost pulled it out. Ray threw his first interception of the season with just over a minute left in the game to seal the win for the Ticats.

The Ticats have now beaten the Argos two games in a row, and arre only two points behind them in the standings.

http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/stand/standings.aspx

As you can see, the Bombers are six points behind the Als with three games to play, so the Bombers will have to win all three, and the Als will have to lose all three for the Bombers to make the playoffs.

*****

You may recall that at this point in the season last year, Ted Michaels ranked the Argos sixth in his power rankings (and I agreed with him), and they then went on to win the Grey Cup. The current #6 would be the Alouettes. If Calvillo comes back, they might have a chance!
