Organissimo on the radio

I thought the band might like to know when they are being played on the radio. This morning, about 11:05am or so, on 89.1 FM (WEMU) out of Ypsilanti, Wendy Wright played Greaze Monkey, with an intro that mentioned the virtuosic playing of "Jimmy Alfredson". Nice to hear this kind of music on a local radio station!

WEMU has been very good to us. In fact, they just hooked us up with a gig on December 7th at Goodnight Gracie's. First time we've played Ann Arbor since April of 2006.

Wendy is good people. She introduced Root Doctor on the Chase Stage at The Detroit Jazz Festival and has become a good friend to both bands. And WEMU just reported the new Root Doctor cd at number 2 for the month of October to Living Blues!

p.s. WEMU has proclaimed Root Doctor's tune "The Blues Will Take Good Care of You" as the station blues anthem (ya Jim wrote that puppy as well).

WEMU is the only station I listen to, in the car or at home (except during baseball season, when I listen to Tigers games on the radio). They really seem to be supporting local talent more than ever lately.

Man, you guys are getting CONSTANT name-drops on WEMU for the Gracie's show this weekend! Between every newsbreak, etc, they are running a promo for the Gracie's event, with Organimisso playing in the background. Sounds good!

Probably, depending on the weather, and the family. I don't live so close to downtown anymore so I have to negotiate I-94 now to get to Ann Arbor, so weather is always a factor.

I was working at the time and not able to post, but the Harvard University station (WHRB) played the entire waiting for the boogaloo sisters... album a few months ago.

GregK, I miss WEMU. When I lived in AA, I listened every day for hours. Great people and great programming. I hope you can make the gig.
