EKE BBB Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Could anybody post or direct me to a picture of a "trumpbone" (hybrid between trumpet and trombone)? A Google search hasn't come out with anything. I know there's also a "slide trumpbone", but I am looking for a "valve trumpbone" picture. Thanks in advance! Agustín Quote

mikeweil Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 There are plenty of those hybrids: I once heard a "flumpet" and a "flugabone". Quote

EKE BBB Posted October 29, 2007 Author Report Posted October 29, 2007 Thanks for all the replies so far. I am looking for a photo of a trumpbone, because this is supposedly one of the instruments that Taylor Ho Bynum used last Friday at the CMU San Juan Evangelista (Madrid) while playing with Braxton's Diamond Curtain Wall Trio, besides trumpet, cornet and flugelhorn. I want to confirm that it was a trumpbone. Definitely, it's not the instrument shown in the link provided by MoGrubb, because what Taylor Ho Bynum used was not intended to rest on his shoulder, and neither is a Firebird Trumpet, because Bynum's artifact only has valves, and not a slide Quote
Free For All Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 maybe this thing?? link to picture That looks like a bass trumpet, that's what I was thinking was what EKE was talking about. Quote
