Now I just wear Spillers Records t-shirts in different colours. I dress even MORE boringly than nine years ago. Basically, it's 'I don't give a toss' style; get what's easy and few others have. MG I'm wearing a different pair of Vans... Quote
Tom 1960 Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 This time of the year, usually jeans with a t-shirt or long sleeved Under Armour shirt covered by a sweatshirt or sweater . My bright colored sneakers with orange laces usually are cause for commentary. Quote

I didn't say I was hip, lol, but yes I think it is still fashionable. On 14-2-2016 at 11:07 AM, A Lark Ascending said: No money left for clothes after buying records. My 'style' is based on 3rd division 70s 'we're only in it for thew music, man' Prog-Rock bands (the ones who couldn't afford capes or loon pants). I buy a lot second hand and not at places that call themselves "vintage". I've dropped down a size in the last 2 years and had to get some new jeans since a belt just wasn't enough anymore and well it looked just.... (you know) Now I did find some pretty neat jeans for €4,- even from "hot" brands. I've never cared much for brand clothes btw, I just choose what I like, fashion or not. While shopping for performances I generally made it a habit to go look the time after Christmas when "festive" clothes got to be on sale and so I've bought some pretty dresses suitable for performance for the big band I was in. Unfortunately some of those have gotten to be too large so when a friend asked me to go somewhere where I needed clothes like that I found that I basically had very little left to wear left. I've replaced a few pieces now, but it will take some time. Some I have brought to a tailor since it was too difficult to do myself. I can do a little when the model isn't too complicated. When I was in my teens my mom didn't have that much money (my dad had died and had to take care of us kids on her own) and I could not wear anything fashionable since it was just too expensive. Basically I had 'school' clothes (no uniform) in the meaning of some decent stuff which I wore at school and had to take off as soon as I came home since it needed to stay proper and in one piece. I could not play in them or whatever, so I had other clothes that I did wear at home. Of course children I played with in the neighbourhood did notice that and found that strange. I know my mom did not have any money to spare, we were poor, and I didn't complain to her cause I understood but I've always hated. Edited February 17, 2016 by page Quote

I couldn't begin to do that and probably wouldn't feel comfortable doing it if I could. So if you have your own clothing style, you have my admiration. Quote
