Aggie87
This guy is selling what appears to be a 2001 edition of the Riverside box, complete with what appears to be couw's booklet.
clifford_thornton
From Amazon.com With 15 jam-packed CDs and a well-designed LP-sized booklet with beautiful photos inside, this is the mother of all Thelonious Monk collections. Its supremacy is only in part related to girth and presentation, however. Guess it's the real deal. I like how you can "buy now and save" with the Complete On The Corner box! J.A.W.
I like how you can "buy now and save" with the Complete On The Corner box! The only thing you'd be saving on if you'd buy both would be shipping, at least compared to what shipping would be if you'd buy them separately... clifford_thornton
Not to mention that that box may not exist either!

relyles
I just received the same odd email. What's odd about it? "Estimated arrival date: 05/11/07 - 07/11/07" The first time I read it I misread this, and assumed it was referring to dates that had already passed. My ignorance. mikelz777
It's notice of a delay rather than a cancellation. Hope is still alive!
clifford_thornton
I doubt it's going to work out. But they haven't charged me yet, I don't think, either.
David Ayers
The amazon website still shows the same price, and availability within 5-7 days. Curiously, there are two amazon sellers offering the set for less. It can't be right.

Curiously, there are two amazon sellers offering the set for less. It can't be right. I noticed that yesterday....two cheap deals followed by a seller offering the set for over £100! I still have the same estimated dispatch dates of 16-24th Oct and have not yet received that email
Aggie87
I ordered one from the Swiss marketplace seller about a week ago. I'm curious whether this will show up, but they have it listed as "in stock", so we'll see. About the same price as Amazon UK to the U.S.

Curiously, there are two amazon sellers offering the set for less. It can't be right. I'm pretty sure there's third party software that automatically lowers the price of items when any other seller undercuts you. I'm tempted to order one of the marketplace ones, but the sellers' 84 & 88% feedback is holding me back...

I'm tempted to order one of the marketplace ones, but the sellers' 84 & 88% feedback is holding me back... Out of curiosity, I sent a question to the lower of the Marketplace sellers to see what kind of response I would get. I said that there were different versions of this set that have been issued and asked them if they could could give me a general description of the packaging as well as approximate dimensions. I did get a reply within 2 days but they said that they didn't have the product description and that the item was (supposedly) in the distributor's warehouse. mikeweil
I think it sucks that they offer this without having a secure deal with whatever supplier/distributor they get this from.
mikelz777
I see now that Amazon.UK is no longer offering the set for sale at any price as of this post. Do you think we'll start seeing cancellation notices or will some of us eventually see our orders fulfilled? My fingers are still crossed. David Ayers
But they *are* doing the Oliver Nelson euro-mosaic for £33.97 which is quite good for us on this side of the pond.
jeffrey r
Just got mine....cancellation notice that is. I would have been surprised for this to go through, but it's still annoying. Oh well, guess I'll drown my sorrows in my new Joe Henderson box from DG.
