The reduced box set sold by Zweitausendeins was never availalable through other channels AFAIK, so chances are high that the Amazon offering is the regular box set. Quote

I guess I never really "got" him so I never pursued any of his recordings. At about $24.00 USD delivered, this is a deal too good to pass up. If it pans out, I'll have ample opportunity to explore a lot of Monk to see what all the fuss is about. Let's keep our fingers crossed! (Amazon.UK got me the Count Basie Clef/Verve Mosaic for less than half price so I'm hopeful!) What are your thoughts on the content for a Monk neophyte? Thanks for the tip Mr. Ayers! The rehearsal take of "Round Midnight" is the best introduction to Monk's music and jazz in general, I mean you can hear him "thinking" through the music! One of the most illuminating experience in my journey in Music Land. Quote
