Chuck Nessa Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 To all subscribers of the Bruyninckx Jazz discography on CD-ROM. In mid-October will finally be released edition 6 containing A-K with additions, amendements and actualizations up to December 2006, L-Z as in edition 5. The delay was caused by loads of information supplied by Michel Ruppli and Erik Raben (whose project Jazz Records is practically dead). Unlike the previous editions this one will allow you to enter own texts and additions without buying expensive software. Subscriber price for edition 6: EUR 75.00 Edition 7 (containing A-Z actualized) will be published in 2009 at a similar price. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Thanks for posting this Chuck. I'm not up with Brxxx;jhdflkjh, partly because I can't be asked to spell his name, but mainly because I didn't understand all those different books of bits of things he was issuing way back. But I've got a feel from other threads that he's the biz - and a damn sight better vfm than Lord - of which I have v4 or 5. But I don't understand "L-Z as in edition 5", because I don't have that. Can you please let me know? Also, what does "actualisation" mean? MG Quote
andybleaden Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 I would think that the actualisation means complete and revised ie l-z gets an update too L-z is not ready yet bu the sounds of it because of the earlier comments about the first set taking so long Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 I'm not up with Brxxx;jhdflkjh, partly because I can't be asked to spell his name Don't tell me this name (typically Belgian, BTW) is more complicated than the average Welsh town name?? :D Anyway, it's good to see this discpography is being revised. Seems like it is far more accessbile (fiancially speaking) than Lord's. Quote

Daniel A Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Seems like it is far more accessbile (fiancially speaking) than Lord's. The complete version for those who are not already subcribers (and paid a lot from the start) is much more. But I take it it's better than Lord anyway. Quote

The ability to correct and make additions is a huge plus. Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted October 4, 2007 Author Report Posted October 4, 2007 (edited) My source for the various installments has been Norbert Ruecker. I suggest emailing him at NRuecker@t-online.de . I suggest checking out his site (though it seems out of date) for the history of the subscriptions, to get an idea. Jazzrecords Edited October 4, 2007 by Chuck Nessa Quote
