The Red Menace Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Comrades! Pardon the old-school Soviet intrusion... a, er, "good friend" is having a terrible time gaining access to the board. From several different computers now, he has encountered the following message when trying to log in under his Organissimo name and password: Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /home/www/organissimo/forum/ips_kernel/class_db_mysql_client.php on line 603 IPS Driver Error There appears to be an error with the database. You can try to refresh the page by clicking here Said board member and board administrator have been unable to determine the problem. After this message pops up, the forum becomes completely inaccessible, no matter what browser is used; the above message greets one no matter what portal is attempted for entry. Any ideas? Browser caches have been cleared, etc., and yet the problem persists. Quote
Achtung Dr. Freud Calling Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 (edited) Comrades! Pardon the old-school Soviet intrusion... Soviet style intrusion?? We get ze point!! We know you're slightly agitated vith this old broken down software.....but please don't do anything hasty! Edited October 2, 2007 by Achtung Dr. Freud Calling Quote
GARussell Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I have the same problem. I thought it might be my computer, but I tried to log on with a friend's computer and got the same "IPS Driver Error" message. So I started a new account. I hope no one has PM'd me at the old account, because for the time being I can't get it! Even though I am now for the time being GARussell, you can call me GA, or you can call me Jay, but you doesn't have to call me Johnson! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Well, line 603 of the file class_db_mysql_client.php, as referenced to the error above, is: $this->query_id = mysql_query($the_query, $this->connection_id); That doesn't really help me at all. GARussell, is that the exact same error code you're getting with your old account? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I have sent a message to Invision Tech Support, since more than one person is experiencing this problem. I will let y'all know the score. Quote
ghost of miles Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Bizarre! Two minutes ago I still got that message... but just now I successfully logged in. On Saturday I was able to log in and make one post, then ran into the driver-error message again... let's see what happens now. Quote
The Red Menace Posted October 2, 2007 Author Report Posted October 2, 2007 Er... no he doesn't. My ghostly comrade tells me he has again lost the ability to post and is once more encountering that infuriating message!!! Quote
ghost of miles Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 It's very odd... I'm sometimes able to get in and post, and sometimes I still can't get any access to the board at all. I have to come in through a roundabout way (a PM e-mail message)...and then I'm booted out again after I post once or twice. Quote
ghost of miles Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Any update on this? Has anybody else besides GA run into this problem? I'm still able to sign on and post once, then I start getting the IPS driver error message again. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Well, I was wondering why I had not gotten a response from Invision yet (they are usually very quick) and realized that I never actually submitted the support ticket. When you write one up and hit "submit" it comes up with a list of possible fixes for your problem, based on the text of your message, and I got into reading those (none helped) and forgot to hit "submit" again. So, I just submitted the support ticket. Sorry. Quote
catesta Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Any update on this? Has anybody else besides GA run into this problem? I'm still able to sign on and post once, then I start getting the IPS driver error message again. Maybe. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 On the contrary Unusually since the new board software, I haven't had to log in once today. So things are definitely BETTER! (Sorry) MG Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Well, I think the problem is solved: Hello, This is a tricky problem. Josh is correct about 2 tables being the main cause of this, but this is that one-in-a-million episode where it's a THIRD table causing the problem. What happened is that your forumstopic_markers table crashed. There were likely FAR more users having this problem than just the two, but those are the two who reported it. I repaired the table, reset GA Russell's password to '*****' and was able to login successfully as that user. Have them try now, and I think they should be able to get in without problem, and without replacing your files. Jason IPS Support Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Sorry to report that, for the first time, I got that problem about twenty minutes ago. I was let in (obviously) after a few tries, but I'm afraid to leave now in case the bogey-man gets me again. MG Quote
GARussell Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Earthlink has been down for the past two days. When it's back up I'll check to see if I am good to go. Thanks for your efforts Jim. Quote
GA Russell Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Today is the first day I have had reliable internet service since Sept. 26. My problems were both computer and ISP related. So today I have logged in using my original account, and everything seems to be working AOK. Thanks again Jim! Quote
Brad Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 I don't have that problem but it seems every few days I have to re log in even though I've clicked "remember me." Quote
Cali Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 I don't have that problem but it seems every few days I have to re log in even though I've clicked "remember me."Me, too. Quote
BFrank Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 I've had to re-login twice today. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 It comes and goes. MG Quote
Free For All Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 I logged off three times today. Too much fiber, perhaps? Quote
