sidewinder Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 There was a while when Mosaic sold Francis Wolff prints. Their website had a link to bring up a large-sized web pic of each one. I went through and saved all of them, including the uncropped "Soul Station" and "No Room For Squares" pictures. Actually, I bought a couple of them that are gazing at me right now from the wall: Thelonious Monk and Thad Jones. Yeah, likewise. I got a Mobley 'Turnaround', Melvin Lastie 'Aligator' , Hubbard 'Goin' Up' and an Art Farmer 'Stylings of Silver' from their half-price 'seconds' deal which I subsequently framed. Shortly after this they seemed to stop doing exports of these photos (I guess some went AWOL). Those were the days ! Quote
clifford_thornton Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I think Mosaic should next issue a facsimile version of the Mocqui sweater Don was wearing on the cover of Symphony for Improvisers. Very hip with those houndstooth slacks! Quote

wolff Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 Crazy thread. Where are we now? Master tapes are almost worthless. CD's are for old folks. Reel to Reel is the way to go. Thank god Concord understands this and master tapes get used. Public domain will save us all!!!! Quote
Claude Posted June 13, 2009 Author Report Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) CD's are for old folks. Reel to Reel is the way to go. In this context, it is often joked about new releases or reissues being made on 8-track. But this has become a reality now, with Cheap Trick's new album, available on CD ($13), LP ($20), and 8-track ($30 ) http://cheaptrick.shop.musictoday.com/Product.aspx?pc=CTAM64 Edited June 13, 2009 by Claude Quote
