Anybody watched the Santoro-Blake match, a whole lot of fun, Blake sure did work hard to get his first 5 setter win.

First late night classic game of the tournament, let's hope for more.

:tup

I went to bed after he blew his chance in the fifth set, there was no way I could stay up any later, so I was just hoping he'd pull it out. He's my favorite, and the only player I'd pull for against Federer, so I am glad he wasn't bounced out so early.

There is a great game between Djokovic and Stepanek going on right now and those idiots at USA network keep cutting away to other games in progress

The two first sets went into the tiebreak, not compelling enough for them.

Djokovic, who the NY-area print media has been pimping big-time, barely squeaked by Stepanek. Five sets: three tie-breaks and two 7-5s.

Wish I could've seen it...well, maybe not, if the coverage sucked as described.

Well, they at least showed the majority of the match, although they were long breaks especially when a set started.

It was another classic, Djokovic fought cramps throughout the match, both guys had their moments. Cheeky performance by the guy who had a coming out party in my hometown beating consecutively, Roddick, Nadal and Federer to win our national open

Yes, great match until they were 4 games all in the fifth. Probably the best match thus far, with I'm sure many more to come.

No more Maria and her nice dresses, maybe she should focus on tennis.

Considering that she has won two Slams, I'd say she focuses on tennis a helluva lot more than the last celebrated 'tennis babe'. Furthermore, she's been dealing with serious injuries this year and I believe I read that she had to modify her service motion to adjust to a shoulder problem. Considering how many times she double faulted and lost her service in that match, I'd say that was a much bigger problem than not "focusing" on her tennis.

I'm quite sure though that both CBS and USA network are very disappointed they won't be able to build their broadcasts around her photogenic form.

Interesting day today. Huge upset in the women's draw today: Sharapova...out! Hingis...out! And how about Donald Young and John Isner! I'm really impressed with both of these players, especially when Isner took a set off Federer! I followed both Young and Isner througout the summer during the US Open series and Isner managed to capture unofficially, the most aces that were not in a grand slam. Young was ranked one in the juniors and was actually in both the regular and juniors draws at the US Open. And although they both lost today, Young and Isner made it quite clear that they have tremendous talent and I think that American tennis has a fighting chance in the future. And a word for Blake too (who plays tonight) He is also having a terrific run, after that huge win in Hew Haven. Very intereting day today so far...

Seems we are heading for a Federer-Roddick quarter final match, Blake and Davydenko are my picks to keep on going. Djokovic who an easier time yesterday could meet a player hot, hot, hot in Gulbis. Chela and Nadal logically should meet in the next round.

Haven't watched any tennis for years... but late last night I watched the last hour of the great match of Wawrinka's - wow! Most impressive! And the enery they still had after 3 and more hours!

Tough five-setter between Haas and Blake. Blake lost in the 5th set tie break.

I didn't watch all the way through, but very disappointed in the outcome - and I was panting after that critical point in the tie-breaker when Blake made two trips to the net, the last time getting passed on the perfect topspin lob. Too bad Blake gave up after that. :excited:

Very impressive win by Henin, she's showing why she's number one, actually happy of not seeing a sister versus sister match.Every time they met they had a sloppy match.

The Nadal-Ferrer game is gonna start way too late, probably will end near 1 am if it ends early. Too bad i wanted to watch it.
