jmjk Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 I have 54. As I scrolled thru the list, I started to get angry at some RVGs masterings I didn't have, but still do have in other formats or McMasterings...the money I wasted!!! Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 About 10 or 15, maybe 20 at most. Quote
Ed S Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 I have 20, only 5 of which were "upgrades". Quote
J.A.W. Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Sold most of them, still have about 10 (early Monks, Powells, Blakeys) Quote
Peter Johnson Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Solamente uno!!! Page One, by good ol' Joe. Got it before I found it on wax, and have kept it for the office! Quote
The Mule Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 32. Most of them upgrades and as such I've always bought them at a deep discount or used. Quote
Uncle Skid Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 24, including the six that arrived yesterday. "Our Man in Paris" in on now - fantastic! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 26 unless I missed one or two. Damn, my eyes are getting old... Quote
Adam Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Don't know; not at home. But very few have been upgrades - maybe just the Monks. I have a vague recollection of the original plan being that they would make only 60 titles as RVGs. Does anyone else remember that, or am I confused? In any case, it looks like that idea went out with the wash. Quote

RDK Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 I count an even 50. No upgrades and this doesn't include the most recent batches. I also have about a dozen JRVGs. I would have bought all the Herbie Hancocks, but I already have them on the box set... Quote
jacknife Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Well I guess it's easier for me to count the ones I don't have! I haven't picked up any of the Sept. 2nd ones and don't have Gantstand or Horace Silver Trio yet, so I must have about 80+. Quote
jazzbo Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Ummm. . . true confessions time. . . I have all of them but the batch that came out last week. . . Sunday I bought Indestructible which caught me up on the last batch! I love this series, yes I do. Quote
Gary Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 i have 60 (including a few in transit). i have a couple of the others that i wont be upgrading- 'song for my father' 'Out to Lunch'. As a relative newcomer to jazz , this series to me is an excellent introduction to an excellent label. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 I also have a bunch of JRVGs which lowers my total. Is this now a "mine's bigger than yours" thread? Quote
jacknife Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I also have a bunch of JRVGs which lowers my total. Is this now a "mine's bigger than yours" thread? So you are admiting yours is rather small? Thats ok since you have girth, which is what really counts...I mean with your JRVGs and all Quote
vibes Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 69, of which only two are upgrades. This number doesn't count JRVG's, of which I have 10-15. Quote
wolff Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 What do you mean by "upgrade"? Are you saying that these were supposed to be better sounding than the earlier CD releases? I think you better petition one of the audiophile labels(Classic Records, Acoustic Sounds, Mobile Fidelity) to start liscencing BN titles if you really want "upgrades". If Classic Records vinyl "upgrades " are similar to what they could do with digital you guys would be in for a shock. Quote
