jazzstage Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Bill, I really wish that Detroit had radio like you host. Your programming reminds me of the programming I heard in the late 80's that truly changed who I was. It was the right sound for the right time. I fear too many people today won't get that life changing experience because NPR is a news network. Thank goodness for WEMU but I sadly can't it in. Keep doing what you are doing. I am sure you are truly changing the way people hear music. Yours is a noble job. Guest Bill Barton Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Wow, thanks Rodney! Your kind words are greatly appreciated. I'm lucky to be at a true community station where nobody tells me what I can play and what I can't play. Having artistic control of your own program is a definite rarity in today's radio world though a few little pockets of open-format broadcasting exist here and there on college and community stations.
