Harold_Z Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 I've tried a lot of different brands, but the tried and true seem to work for me. No surprises here. If if want a good taste at a reasonable price I go for Dewars. If I want to spend a little more it's Chivas. Of the single malts I've tried, Lagavulin and Oban both had distinct good taste and aroma and stand out the most in my mind. Happy trails to you........... Quote
Harold_Z Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 .....and when money was tight......John Begg used to make the scene. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Sorry; I'm strictly a Crown Royal man when it comes to whiskey. I tend to get melancholy, say "eh" a lot, mispronounce "offense" and drone on and on about hockey when drinking... Quote
MoGrubb Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Johnnie Walker red is my choice of scotch. It's a blend and is as smooth as a baby's ass. Quote
AndrewHill Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 I prefer my scotch on the rocks Quote
Aggie87 Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Aggie87 recommends that Aloc use the search function. There's an existing scotch thread, that Aloc is even the most recent poster in. Quote

porcy62 Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 (edited) Aloc, this is the place I discovered in my alcoholic trip in Edinburgh: http://www.royalmilewhiskies.co.uk/ No need to say my heirs will sue them one of these days. And this is an italian guy who spend his life tasting and buying single casket from the distilleries, then bottle with his name. Pretty expensive and single malt, but the fews I drunk whorthed all the money. Not easy to find even in Italy. http://www.samaroli.it/English/default.htm Edited August 16, 2007 by porcy62 Quote
