AndrewHill Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 On a serious note though, I do not know the other cats you've mentioned in this group, although it sounds like a powerful trio. Please educate me Quote

king ubu Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 There are fans of McPhee here, definitely. McPhee phan here too When the sh*t hits the phan, I'll be there, too! Haven't heard Trio X, though, but McPhee is one of the musicians I have a lot of respect for, and I like or love all of what I've heard of his music! Quote

Please educate me The reason for my qualification is that I know a lot of people who like McPhee but who don't like Duval or Rosen. -- I've liked some of what I've heard, but on the whole the best of McPhee is the Hat Art stuff (mostly o/p, alas). JohnS Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 (edited) I'd be interested to hear this band but so far I've not taken the plunge. Edited August 24, 2007 by JohnS Quote

Yes, the Hat Art material is top shelf-hard to pick favorites, but Topology is right up there, with Linear B and Old Eyes and Mysteries following that. Quote
relyles Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I have heard several live unissued recordings by the group. I am encouraged to hear more. Quote
