danasgoodstuff Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Driving home from work yesterday, just coming to a stop in a long line of cars when the lady behind me apparently stomped the wrong pedal, slammed into me, bouncing me off the car in front, into the turn lane where she hit me again. Probably totalled my Studebaker (it's not worth that much) and banging me up pretty good. At least my wife and daughter weren't in the car and another Lark shouldn't be too hard to find. Still, kind of a bummer... Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Good you hear you escaped safely, but here's some sincere sympathy from another classic car lover and owner ... Hope you recover enough money to buy another tidy example. Good luck scouring Hemmings ... Quote
jazzbo Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Sorry to hear that. And you one of those "Artists" as well! Glad all are safe, that's the most important part (even for a classic car owner, I'm one. . . though the car hasn't run in years!) Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted August 15, 2007 Author Report Posted August 15, 2007 Thanks for the good words steve & Lon, sorry I posted this in the wrong place, I've been kinda scattered since the accident. I guess keeping your classic in the sop is safer, but I love driving mine. The other side accepted responsibility so I've got a retal, waiting to hear how much $ I'll get and I've got a line on several Studes (what else?)... Quote
AndrewHill Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Sorry to hear that man. Sounds like you were compensated as you should be Last time that happened to me, a kid driving a Volvo hit me from behind, I was coming home from school and he was more than happy to exchange insurance info with me. Shhhhhhh, but there was a dunch in the bumber already and I got that fixed too Quote
Jazzmoose Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 You'd think my first reaction would be "are you alright?", but my first thought was "she hit a Studebaker? Hang her!". Talk about twisted values... Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted September 1, 2007 Author Report Posted September 1, 2007 Just drove home my new (to me) beautiful '62 Studebaker Lark Cruiser (4dr longer wheelbase), 289 v-8, auto, pw steer pw brakes (discs in front from a '63), runs a little hot, needs some stuff to make a daily driver, but still it's great... Brad Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 Hope you got yourself checked out by a doc. Had a friend who got rearended and then a week later discovered he had some hairline fracture in his leg! Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted September 2, 2007 Author Report Posted September 2, 2007 I'm being ably tended to by my ex-wife, Therese M. Scott, DO. Quote
Tim McG Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Several years ago I got rearended by a Yuppie on a car phone in her BMW. Quote
Tim McG Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Then I got screwed by the insurance company. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 I saw somebody rear-end a parked car at about 30mph last night. Dumbass. Quote
