bertrand Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Up... Before I pre-order these, do we know if they will be copy-protected in the U.S.? Bertrand. Quote
jazzbo Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 My guess is NO Bert, the corresponding RVGs released here are not, and I asked my friend Dave, Tower jazz buyer here in Austin, and he had not heard any mention of planned copy protection here in the US by EMI. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 We're almost there. Yeah, but are we there yet??? Quote
CJ Shearn Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 I preordered the Morgan, Rivers, and Young. The Hill and Mobley dates look interesting but b/c I have no Hill at all, let alone any of his BN dates (tho I do like his playing on "Our Thing") dates, I wouldn't get it until I heard a lot of his stuff. Also b/c I don't have any 60's Hank as a leader, I'd rather go through all those first. Quote
BruceH Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Yeah, CJ, The Flip is more for Hank completists (like myself). Get Soul Station and Workout first. What a lineup of Conns, though. How many hours til release? Quote

How many hours til release? Can I still be a Mobley completeist if I don't have, and never plan to get Reach Out? Quote

Aggie87 Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 Sorry to ask, but have there been any new posts to this thread since my last post? I've been too lazy to check... Quote
Guest ariceffron Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 you dont deserve any mobley if that is your reasoning beacuse REACH OUT is good. some of the straight ahead tunes on that were frequently played by mobley on his tours of europe at that time. ive heard those too and they are good. so get reach out already. Shrdlu Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 I enjoyed "Reach Out", too, and it even got the TOCJ treatment. Quote
Swinging Swede Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 Is it Oct. 7th yet??? Not quite yet, but until then one can watch these BIG covers from Walmart: Quote

RDK Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 I really dig that "Mothership" cover, but why does it look like someone penciled in the insides of the "O"s, "R"s, and "P"s? Quote
Late Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Let's also include big pics of ... Now we'll just wait for Walmart to post Mr. River's album cover art. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but has anyone heard any word on the next batch? When, or what titles? Let me look into my crystal ball ... ... OK, I'm getting something. Yes, here we go: 1. Andrew Hill: Chained 2. Don Cherry: Where is Brooklyn? 3. Booker Ervin: Back from the Gig 4. Frank Foster: Manhattan Fever 5. Don Ellis: Essence And for any famous nay-sayers to the above list, I present: . Quote
