Has anyone here heard both versions of this? There is the Art Farmer which came out on vinyl in the late 50s or early 60s. Then there is the re-recording C O'F did on CD in the 90s.

I don't think the Art Farmer is on CD. Should I hunt down vinyl of the original or is the more recent version good?

Or do I need both?

I have only heard the verion on the 2000 Milestone recording, Carambola. The entire recording is very good in my opinion and worth owning.

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning toward the earlier recording, if for no other reason than the fact that percussion was recorded better during that era...But I'll probably pick up Carambola at some point too.
