Chuck Nessa Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 (edited) On the AAJ forum, excuse me if I missed it here, Chris reports the death of Karl Knudsen, owner of Storyville. You can view it at http://forums.allaboutjazz.com/showthread....s=&threadid=311. I know from personal experience, he was a pain in the ass to deal with, but we all owe KEK a debt. Thanks Karl. And thanks to CA for the notice. I changed an o to an e in his name in my edit. Edited September 7, 2003 by Chuck Nessa Quote

mmilovan Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Well, thank you Karl Knudsen for everything you did. His Storyville label he used to put licence to issue in my country, was honest and good sounding label, always issuing very rare stuff by jazz giants hardly obtainable. These vinyls include everything - from NOrleans to hard bop, and they were important in mine development as jazz listener and fan. RIP Quote
jazzbo Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Echoes to the above. Sorry for the loss of your friend Chris. Knudsen was a true benefactor of jazz. Quote
