I only watch Baseball Tonight and any baseball games. That "Who's Now" is the stupidest thing going- closely followed by the Budweiser Hot Seat. My son loves Sportscenter and he's 25 so it's geared to his generation- not to mine. Too overwhelming in graphics, sounds etc. Just the facts.

The announcers seem too chummy to the athletes- no disconnect. Probably why Dan Patrick is leaving?

Does your son think any differently about "Who's Now"? Even making generational allowances its dumb dumb dumb.

As far as the chumminess with athletes - it goes back to the anchors trying to become celebrities in their own right with their endless search for the catch-phrase that will set them apart.

Boo-yah!

One odd thing about ESPN is that, despite its increasing focus on the younger (20ish, as mentioned above) demographic, the network is accelerating its hype of "Greatest of All Time" and "Best Ever" rankings. Every year, any close NFL playoff game, NCAA tourney game, golf tournament, etc. is accompanied by "Best Ever?" features. Seems strange to expect young fans to be able to make these rankings  ...Oh, I get it! They're cognizant of all the great historical clashes via ESPN Classic! :g

It is ironic that the sports network does such a lousy job of covering sports. I would like to see the game, please. I don't need 2/3 of the screen loaded with meaningless graphics with irrelevant stats. I'd like the news delivered without sarcasm, smirks and catchphrases. I'd like annoncers who actually know something about sports besides " When I played..." I know, I Know, I'm asking too much.

I watch ESPN for boxing if theres a good bout on. ESPN Classic shifted back to digital cable so that's gone. The thing that bugged me about fights on ESPN Classic is that when they showed fights of fairly recent vintage they overdub the original commentary with Joe Tessitore

Forgot to mention that I do like the coverage of the Australian, French and Winbledon grand slam events, along with the US Open Series too. I usually skip Sports Center and just watch the crawl for scores.

I watch ESPN for sporting news, highlight reels, classics and the various baseball and football games.

The idiotic game shows [Who is Now? WTF is that bullshit?] and gossip shows make me want to hurl.

Not only that but they are lamely pretending they are commentating the fight live, acting as if they were not aware of what happened to the fighters afterward, while they're at it why don't they make predictions.

I'd rather watch the fight with the vintage commentators. Guess ESPN is too cheap to buy the rights.

Joe Morgan remains relentless in providing expertly stated nonsense. Last night, during Mets-Cubs on ESPN, Luis Castillo stuck with a windblown popup, making a nice catch. But Morgan explained the play as the result of Castillo being unfamiliar with the winds in Wrigley Field because, “Castillo has played his entire career in the American League.”

But Castillo played 10 years in the NL, all with the Marlins. In fact, it was Castillo who hit the infamous fly that spectator Steve Bartman caught - before Moises Alou could - in the 2003 NLCS at Wrigley. Last season, with the Twins, was his first in the AL.

In the top of the fifth, Morgan’s partner, Jon Miller, noted that Castillo has played before in Wrigley. Morgan said nothing.

I am most annoyed at the fact that most of the baseball folks (Former players specifically) won't badmouth Bonds. Makes me feel like they all may have tried some stuff at one time or another. Kruk was rock solid back in his playing days!
