Lucky Thompson

No one's mentioned Miles Davis' Walkin' session on Prestige (OJC). That's the one with J.J.Johnson, Lucky Thompson, Horace Silver, Percy Heath, and Kenny Clarke recorded April 29, 1954.

That's a good one! (But as others here have noted, I haven't heard of a bad Lucky session.)

Hey Son-of-a-Weizen, I was lucky to pick that one up last fall for $4.00. I have been pretty happy with the issues in this series that I have picked up. When I have seen them they have been pretty cheap. I have one issue on this series, Fletcher Henderson and the Dixie Stompers, where the personnel listed is seemingly from another record they planned to issue, possibly a Don Redman collection.
