In the liners to the new Trane at Newport reissue, Ashley Kahn states that Willis Conover was trying to calm the crowd after a raucous JOS trio set before Trane came on. Was this recorded? I'm thinking it's probably something Verve would issue rather than Blue Note b/c Jimmy's final BN sessions were February 1963. Does anyone know if tapes exist?
