Sure! He is not from this planet. He is a small alien who came from the outter space to tease Real Madrid for our sins... 😀

Definitely, Messi is a Martian. Three incredible plays and it's over. As usual. What a footballer!!! :alien:

Another excellent result for Ajax: after beating Real Madrid in the last 32 they knocked out Juventus in the QF tonight, 3-2 aggregate.

Who would have thought it?

Ajax plays the best football I saw in the last years, it deserves at least the final, IMO.

Nevertheless there is no hope. This year it will be Barça winning the Champions League...

It may be a long time before we are back at a high level. A 1-1 draw with Leganes is not very inspiring.

Might depend on how many of the current Ajax team RM buy at the end of the season :)

Tottenham Hotspur - Ajax 0-1. Not a brillant match but a win is beter than a loss. Ajax has a busy agenda for the rest of the season. Sunday Dutch FA cup final vs. Willem II. Wednesday the return against Tottenham. Then 2 more league games (May 12th and 15th) for the champiionchip no mistakes allowed. And hopefully CL final June first in Madrid.

In the Champions League there are no style points. It's just wins, wins, wins. I think Ajax has a good chance of making it to Madrid but if they face Barcelona, the blaugrana will have a strong home court advantage.

Ajax is phenomenal. I had no idea...

They've exposed and exploited the weakness of  Tottenham - real lack of finishers, other than Son and Kane. Lucas Moura just isn't in the same class.

I'm looking forward to watching Ajax in the finals! They are a breath of fresh air!

They played them evenly until that second goal; Messi was in the right place at the right time. I’m sure Liverpool is tired of Spanish teams.

Today Ajax won the Dutch FA cup. Beating Willem II 4-0. No time to celibrate. Wednesday they got to beat Tottenham for a place in the Champions League final.

I could weep watching Arsenal these past few weeks. Gripless defence and just not enough attacking intent to make up for goals shipped at the other end.

Unai is the right manager but we need a boat load of better players. On current form we don’t deserve CL football next season. Don’t get me wrong it’d be outstanding to win the Europa League but we’d only get humiliated next season by the big boys.

Rebuilding takes time.  They appeared lifeless yesterday.

No one seems to be commenting on the biggest football story of the weekend, Reading FC's heroic survival in the Championship.

I can't think why it has gone unnoticed amongst all this talk of Ajax, Barcelona, Spurs and Arsenal...😁

Yes, I don't know how that slipped between our fingers.... :D

Today is a feast - Man City vs Leicester. If Man City wins, they are almost the champions! If Leicester wins, they have a shot at the Europa League.

Go Vardy!

As usual, I feel bad for all the teams that were relegated, like Cardiff. Huddersfield gave it all they got against Man U even though there was nothing to play for and Manchester played like relegation was on the line for them.

Dutch football magazine VI has an article on their website where they claim the eight minutes where a replacement corner flag was sought were the most exciting of the match. Ziggo Sports tv analyst Wim Kieft* didn't feel like analysing at half time, and they joke he was right and that Ziggo should have cancelled the broadcast by turning the channel to black.

The match was godawful, of course.

ManU still has a theoretical shot at the Champions League. They thought they'd roll over Huddersfield, but good on H. for keeping them at bay.

How do you figure that. Spurs have 70 points and Man U has 66 with one match to go.

Correct me if I'm wrong:

PL is allowed 5 teams in the CL. Right now ManU is in the 6th spot, one point behind Arsenal, with both clubs having one match to play.

The Europa Cup winner will automatically go into the next CL. Could be either Chelsea(3) or Arsenal(5).

Won't it give ManU  a shot at the CL, if they bump Arsenal off the 5th berth?
