manfred Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 The good guys didn't win but it was a hell of a game wednesday, kudos to Real for pulling it. Barcelona was horrible during the first half while Madrid was playing well. In the seceond the Catalan side got its groove back and were the best team however they kinda run on fumes at the end and then the Madrid side got over and got the big win in the overtime.. By the way for the Yanks reading this thread, the color commentator for Gol TV has to be the most annoying guy working with a mike nowadays, I have flashbacks of Bud Collins doing tennis commentary on NBC. good analysis, just little to point to: if you compare the way, inter (with mourinho) did beat barca last year, you will see, that samuel eto played a kind of a (left) defender, just as angel di maria did this time for madrid, especially towards the end of the game.... i think that di maria this time was the most valuable player of the game....(even very important khedira) and i have to committ, that i thought it was wrong to bring adebyor instead of özil, but it was very right... manfred Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 can anybody help me to understand arsene wenger? why does he not care for a good defence??? he has always some very poor defender, and not a real great goalkeeper, to many players of his team do not "think defence", why doesn`t he care about this? or why does he care but takes the wrong decisions???? diaby is always a very great risk!!! Van Basten II Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 Here's another question, why is he still in charge of the Gunners ? Quote
JohnJ Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Manchester United completely dominated Schalke last night, it could easily have been 6-0 but for some poor finishing and a great display from the Schalke goalkeeper Neuer. I thought Rooney was superb. Quote
B. Goren. Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Here's another question, why is he still in charge of the Gunners ? My thoughts, exactly. Manchester United completely dominated Schalke last night, it could easily have been 6-0 but for some poor finishing and a great display from the Schalke goalkeeper Neuer. I thought Rooney was superb. It was a very exciting scene at the end to see Raul Gonzales and Ryan Giggs Hugging each other. Quote
Van Basten II Posted April 27, 2011 Author Report Posted April 27, 2011 Don't think Neuer will stay for long with Shalke,. Quote
marcoliv Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 What a marvellous goal Messi scored today I'm a Madridista but i don't think it's possible to revert such advantage. Man Utd x Barcelona..i wish i could be at Wembley! Quote
Van Basten II Posted April 28, 2011 Author Report Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) What an amazing goal indeed, regarding Wenger I think they keep him there because Arsenal is in the business of developping players and competitive while keeping a reasonnable budget, which is what Wenger does well if you are looking for a team to take "the next step" don't hold your breath, they probably never will Edited April 28, 2011 by Van Basten II Quote
marcoliv Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 I like Arsene but i really feel that Arsenal needs a severe change. Quote
brownie Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Messi Messi :tup What a brillant player! The best of his generation! His two goals against Real Madrid illuminated a rather dull match! Quote
Van Basten II Posted April 28, 2011 Author Report Posted April 28, 2011 There is something ironic in the fact that out of the three games played between the two rivals in the last few weeks, the poorest was won by the Catalan side and the best game was won by Madrid. Quote
marcoliv Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Arsenal managed to defeat Man Utd. Will Chelsea beat them at Old Trafford next week? Quote
B. Goren. Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 I was there in '76 (and for their many other triumphs in the late 60s early 70s), who'd have thought it would take another 35 years to win a cup...... I hope for them that we'll not have to wait another 35 years until the next title. Quote
marcoliv Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 The same with Lille, winner of the French Cup, who waited 56 years to clinch a new trophy. MCO Quote
B. Goren. Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 I feel sorry for West Ham who relegated from premier league. Quote
marcoliv Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 What a brilliant game from one of the best teams ever in football history. I'm a Madrid fan but this Barcelona is pure art Quote

I'm a Madrid fan but this Barcelona is pure art I'm a Manchester United fan but I have to admit that the better team won. We'll have to wait at least another year. Congratulations to the winners. B. Goren. Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Am I the only one here who's watching the Copa America 2011??? Urguay was amazing this evening! I want them to go all the way. Quote
Van Basten II Posted August 6, 2011 Author Report Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Action started back yesterday, was my first match watched, except for our local club but that's another level, since the extraordinary Champions League final. So sorry did not follow the Copa America, games weren't available on my cable system and I did not want to bother getting them on the grey market. So I watched Dortmund-Hamburg. To make a short resumé, Dortmund was sharp, alert and dynamic, Hamburg was not. Le Championnat Français also starts this weekend will see the defending champs today. Other noteworthy action is the Community Shield this sunday between MU and MC. Edited August 6, 2011 by Van Basten II Quote

Brad Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Saw part of the Dortmund game. Rough way for Hamburg to start the season. Quote
Van Basten II Posted August 8, 2011 Author Report Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) Thanks to a faulty DVR, could not watch French action Managed to watch the Community Shield , can already guess the title of the front pages Misery loves Kompany. Quite an entertaining game, it was played at a quite good level MU showed some vulnerability at defense and the new keeper did not look that great on the second goal but overall they were the better team so they deserved to add some hardware on their shelves. Should be watching tomorrow the Bayern-Monchengladbach game . Edited August 8, 2011 by Van Basten II Quote
