Van Basten II
TV5 used at least to broadcast the quarters to the finals.
sal
I wouldn't be surprised if either Fox or GOL TV broadcast the next one. I know there has been alot of demand for it among football fans here in the states. There were lots of complaints that nobody picked it up. Van Basten II
Don't remember the last time I saw Arsenal actually win. Awful game they played wednesday, two horrible goals allowed and no inspiration when they had the bell, they deservingly lost the first leg. brownie
French teams are on a roll, gotta say it was about time the game ended though. but not the national team. Les Bleus who were facing a real team this time were soundly defeated 0-2 by Spain in a friendly match some 100 days before the kickoff of the World Cup last night. They got well deserved boos from the Stade de France crowd at the end of the match...
B. Goren.
Manchester United striker Michael Owen ruled out for rest of season. What a bad luck.
sal
My Villans are set to return to Wembley to face Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinal. Hope it turns out better than it did a week ago in the Carling Cup final. Also, I recently read a very interesting book called "Soccernomics: Why England Loses, Why Germany and Brazil Win, and Why the U.S., Japan, Australia, Turkey--and Even Iraq--Are Destined to Become the Kings of the World's Most Popular Sport". Have any of you read this?

Van Basten II
Finally got to see the Gunners win one What a goal by Nasri http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uNKGiyM_Vw
brownie
Splendid goal by Samir Nasri indeed! The stubborn French national team coach Raymond Domenech has neglected Nasri for much too long. Les Bleus can't spare a talent like him but I doubt Domenech will change his mind!

Les Bleus can't spare a talent like him but I doubt Domenech will change his mind! How long it will take untill we'll get rid of him??? Of course I'm talking about Domenech and not Nasri... Van Basten II
Great win by Lyon today, despite Real coming like gangbusters in the first half.
brownie
Oui... it was good to see that money cannot buy everything (at least, sometime...). Would not have bet on an upset after watching the first-half. An impressive Lyon came back and blocked Real Madrid's attempt to go beyond the 1-1 score! Real won't be playing the Champions League final on their homeground at Santiago Bernabeu in May!
Van Basten II
Who would have guessed that the quarters would involve as many French sides as any of the other championships could deliver. Bravo Bordeaux. Once that said, barring they get drawn together, feel that MU and Barça are on a collision course for the ultimate prize. B. Goren.
I am waiting for the quarter final draw. There is no doubt in my mind that 7 teams dont want to play against Barcelona...
B. Goren.
It looks promising: Bayern Munich v Manchester United Arsenal v Barcelona Inter Milan v CSKA Moscow Lyon v Bordeaux
brownie
Good to think that there will at least one French team in the semifinals. Since I'll be drinking to the team's victory, let me say that I am a Bordeaux man rather than a Beaujolais one! Will root for Yohann Gourcuff and his teammates! P.L.M
I'm all for Lyon. The team, at least in CL, is far superior to Bordeaux and is going stronger and stronger since the beginning of this year.
