sal
Barcelona 1 - 0 Real Madrid. Real was not so bad but Carles Puyol made the difference. as he usually does during the Classicos. Victor Valdes is having an excellent run of form as well.

sal
Amazing! I can't imagine what the mood in the Liverpool dressing room must be like. There's already rumors of a Gerrard exit next summer.
Van Basten II
Liverpool looks so hapless, it's not even funny. Our cable company has finally added Setanta so i can finally see EPL games on a more regular basis and without using crappy internet feed. On the bad side of things, it's not exactly cheap 15 $ per month, meanwhile it's free until january the 10th.
sal
I'm absolutely loving the Premier League this season. Its much more competitive and its nice not to have a clear "Big Four" right from the start. Plus, if Arsenal loses this game against Hull, my Villans are in third place! By the way, its been confirmed that Mark Hughes has been sacked. Quite impatient, those Man City owners.

Van Basten II
Well, they spent some money and they were hoping for something in return. In a season like Sal mentionned without the usual Big Four, they expected to do better than running for a Europa League spot.
B. Goren.
Manchester United 0 - Leeds United 1. This is unbelievable!!!
sal
It was a fantastic match! Leeds played with so much heart. I love seeing these little clubs take out the big guys. And Man U fielded a very strong team too.
mjazzg
Sal, whilst they may be currently languishing in League One I'd seriously counsel against calling Leeds Utd a 'little club' in the hearing of anyone forom that area of the UK - a very big club fallen on hard times might be safer and no I'm no supporter of them...my team, Reading did a very good job drawing with Liverpool yesterday

mjazzg
o yes, I grew up with them dominating things... Peter Lorrimer, Norman Hunter, Allan Clarke, Mick Jones (they wore sock hold-ups with tabs showing their shirt number!).....also I'm sure Leeds fan would like to remind everyone that as recently as 2001 they were in the Champions League semi-final...but then it went all very horribly wrong
sal
My apologies...I should have phrased it as "lower division club" beating the "higher division club"
sal
Horrible news about the Togo National Team bus getting machine gunned in Angola, and sad to hear that there were deaths in the team's crew. I'm amazed that there were no player deaths, since by their account they were shelled for nearly a half hour. This is going to be quite a blow for African football in the future, and surely will raise speculation about security during the World Cup. brownie
Looks now like the team bus was at the wrong place at the wrong time! Latest word is that the Togolese team still intends to play in the African Cup.. AP story

Van Basten II
Would have enjoyed watching the African cup of nations, but for whatever reason, games were only available on a PPV stream here :bwallace2:
brownie
It was the same in France where the African Cup was broadcast by the Orange TV channel only. Have had too many problems with Orange in the past to succumb to the temptation!
