J.A.W. Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Wonder where this one will end: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2517701729 Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 22, 2003 Author Report Posted March 22, 2003 No problem - if you're financing my bid, that is... Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 He said the spine is intact and without flaw....but there's clearly some rubbing near the bottom. That's outrageous!! I wouldn't bid more than 2,395.75 Quote
Saint Vitus Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Is true original first pressing any different from original first pressing or first pressing? Quote
Jazzmoose Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 It's a con job, guys; don't fall for it! Hold out for the really truly, no shit, honest to God first original true may-my-mother-drop-dead-if-I'm-lying first pressing; accept no substitutes!! Quote
chris olivarez Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 Jazzmoose- I concur. 2400.00 that's insane!!! Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 28, 2003 Author Report Posted March 28, 2003 It stands at $2,678.00 with a few hours left to go... Quote
Jazzmoose Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Does anyone know what the "buy it now" price was? Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 28, 2003 Author Report Posted March 28, 2003 No, but it just ended at $2,800.00... Quote
Dan Gould Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Oh man, this sucks. "LOR" was the winner of my re-auction of that rare Ronnie Foster Live at Montreaux LP (just move the decimal point in $2800.00 over two places to know what he paid). If he's got the wallet to bid $2800 on that Morgan LP I just know that if he'd had some serious competition, he'd have paid much bigger bucks for the Foster LP. I knew I should have asked my friend to shill for me Quote

Noj Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Have you guys ever seen someone pay more than that for a record? $2800--INSANITY! Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 28, 2003 Author Report Posted March 28, 2003 Have you guys ever seen someone pay more than that for a record? $2800--INSANITY! Yep, $10,000.00 for an original Elvis Presley LP, way back in the 1970s. Quote

mikeb Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I will not tell my mother about the $10,000 for an Elvis LP ... she had all of his records until 1966, when she moved to Wisconsin and left them in the old house ... Quote
Matthew Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 (edited) What makes this guy's name so hard to spell??? It is happening again.... Edited April 1, 2003 by Matthew Quote

Rooster_Ties Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 (edited) Never heard of this guy, is this really worth anything close to $123.00 (high bid at the time I'm posting this)????? Link: Tony Pancella Piano Trio (LP) - Italian jazz Edited April 6, 2003 by Rooster_Ties Quote
Parkertown Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Don't know if it's craziness, but just look what Spain did to this Tina Brooks True Blue cover!!! True Blue auction Very funky-looking! Quote
Dan Gould Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 This is just wrong on so many levels ... Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 (edited) The original is so classy.....how dare they tarnish it with that cheap red light district-looking red!!! What an outrage....there outta be a law!! This particular one on the other hand is a truly stunning work of art http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2520642689 Edited April 7, 2003 by Son-of-a-Weizen Quote
Dan Gould Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Hey, how the heck do you have 100% positive feedback? Doing a little self-dealing are we? And I like this bit of nonsensical feedback someone placed: "An E-bayer among E-Bayers!" Well, um ... yeah, he's an "ebayer among ebayers", except when he goes to another auction site. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Hey, how the heck do you have 100% positive feedback? Because every time I see Tod's name show up as a bidder, I immediately cancel the auction and dodge what would definitely be a negative feedback 'bullet'. Quote
Stan C Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 I noticed the awful color cover of the True Blue CD selling by spanichi and his other Blue Notes. It will probably sell more than the real deal. Quote
Out2Lunch Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Please don't mention that word "Spinach" or I'll get in trouble again!!! Quote
