AllenLowe Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 well, I have all Republicans blocked for the politial forum - but I'll take Berigan's word - Quote
wesbed Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Was wondering though, why does every other post have a light peach background??? Edit: more lavenderI didn't notice till you wrote your words. But.. the color, maybe it's to give a subtle difference so when you scan through a page you can see where each post starts and stops? I'm not sure the color difference exists. Maybe? An illusion? Or not? Quote
Matthew Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Great Job Jim and did I miss this place when it ws down. One thing that happened to me, I can't get to the forum through Foxfire/Mozilla (I'm using Opera right now). Is that just me? or is it one of the bugs that needs to be worked out? Quote
Aggie87 Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 One minor suggestion - when you click on "View New Posts", the squares next to the threads with new posts (the little orange squares) are TINY, and hard for this old guy to click on easily. Any way to make those larger? Bump Quote
Matthew Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Never mind, I cut and pasted the URL (seems to be different) and I got the board off Foxfire. Quote
Parkertown Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Hi Jim, Thanks for the upgrade; it's working real fast!!! However, it appears that hitting Alt-S no longer works for posting replies...I'm pretty trained to do it that way...can that be restored? Please? Also, on the SH board (which I think may use this software; I'm probably wrong...) the icon in the first column (here it show topics as "regular" or "hot" topics) can also display an arrow indicating it's a thread that "you" have already made a reply to. I find that very helpful to find the discussions I'm already involved with and was hoping it might be possible to activate it here. Thanks for your consideration...and everything. (Ahh, shit...I just hit Alt-S again...don't work!!! ) Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 2, 2007 Author Report Posted July 2, 2007 Scott, SH uses vBulletin. I never used ALT-S. In fact, I never knew you could do that. I don't know how or if I can restore that function but I'll look into it. The orange square next to threads means you've read the thread, but I'm not sure about posting. Quote
MoGrubb Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 is this just some scheme to make us all donate? That's cool. But, I think we oughta get a few thou posts added for donating, maybe prorated according to the donation amount. Quote
JohnS Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Welcome back - but as I was hospitalized for a large chunk of the week I didn't miss my daily Big O fix too much. Quote
sidewinder Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Welcome back - but as I was hospitalized for a large chunk of the week I didn't miss my daily Big O fix too much. Get well soon John - hopefully nothing too nasty. Quote

If I'm not mistaken a small white rectangle - or whatever it's called in English - appears in the icon in the first column on the "View New Posts" page when you've posted to a thread. Big Al Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Thanks for all the hard work, Jim. Especially since you've got a full enough plate to begin with! Quote
Cliff Englewood Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 The Board looks excellent and seems to be running faster, well done and thanks for all your hard work. Quote
ghost of miles Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Dear Mr. Kotter, Please excuse Juan from class yesterday, as he was busy fixing the Organissimo discussion board and alphabetizing the sweet subgenre of my big-band vinyl collection. Signed, Epstein's mother Quote
ghost of miles Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Gotta do something to amuse myself, as I don't have a personal statement currently and have no friends to display. -_- Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted July 2, 2007 Author Report Posted July 2, 2007 The "Today's Active Topics" link at the bottom of every page is back, as well as the "donate" button. I'm working on the larger font. Quote
