Jim Alfredson Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Hi everybody! So sorry this took so long. I hope you enjoy this new version of the Invision software. I realize the look is quite different, but I think it is easier on the eyes and easier to read. The extra security added to this new software is really nice, too. You should notice an increase in speed as well, since we upgraded mySQL. In any case, I apologize again for the lengthy downtime and welcome you all back. POST AWAY! Quote
jazzbo Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 (edited) Excellent job Jim! THANKS! Glad we're back up. Some of us were getting way too much other work done! Edited June 30, 2007 by jazzbo Quote
JSngry Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 TA-DA!!!! The color scheme is CRISP! But can I make an adjustment to the onscreen font size? These eyes ain't as sharp as they once were... Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 30, 2007 Author Report Posted June 30, 2007 There are still some skinning issues I need to contend with, like adding a donate button again, the CDUniverse search bar, etc. I'll get to that later, but for all intents and purposes we are back in action! Quote
montg Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 30, 2007 Author Report Posted June 30, 2007 Jim, I'll look into it... it is probably relatively easy to make a "large font" skin. Our old skins are still available as well, I've just disabled them as they need to be re-done. I don't know if I'll offer the numerous skin choices I did in the past. That's a LOT of work. Quote
7/4 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Looks like we lost a day or so of posts. Not complaining...just lookin' Quote

JSngry Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 What? Has the board been down? Nah, we all just took a week off to go cooter fishin'. Quote
sidewinder Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Good to be back ! Seems to be running pretty fast too. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 30, 2007 Author Report Posted June 30, 2007 The server went down Monday morning. Weekly back-ups are done on Sunday (not sure what time on Sunday). Anything posted after the back-up was lost, unfortunately. Thankfully the server crashed relatively soon after or we would have lost a lot more. Quote
JSngry Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 We're gonna need to restart that Georgia Anne Muldrow thread then... :w Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted June 30, 2007 Author Report Posted June 30, 2007 I would just like to say that MAJOR props need to go to Jason from Invision Tech Support. The man worked tirelessly to get us back up and running and to update the database. Whatever Invision is paying him, isn't enough. He also dealt smoothly with my meddling (I'm a DIY'er at heart... always wanted to take over and do stuff myself...) and had great suggestions. Jason, you are the man! Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Looks GREAT Jim. Thanks for all the hard work you've put in. MG Quote
JSngry Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Well get on it, Jim! I reckon I will, once I get back from Joe Milazzo's wedding this evening. Me & LTB's gettin' all slickered up as we speak. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Ah, the other thing I notice is that you don't have the link at the bottom that pulls up the last three or so pages of new posts. Is that another job for later? MG Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted June 30, 2007 Author Report Posted June 30, 2007 Word. I gotta get my butt to Flint for a beer tent gig. Y'all behave in the new playground, ok? Quote

If he is, maybe I can pick him up on the way to Milazzo's wedding & he can get his party on at no cost! Seriously, thank you Jason, who/whereever you are. Edited June 30, 2007 by JSngry Quote

Is that another job for later? MG Yes, but you can still view Today's Active Topics from the main index page, right under the Board Statistics header. Obviously, there won't be too many active topics right now! Quote
