clifford_thornton Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I'm just saying... Life Between the Exit Signs owes debt in a few spots to Paul Bley. It's a solid LP, though. There's a whole lot more Jarrett I'm not really interested in dealing with. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 And Karl Berger and Joachim Kuhn also hum and grunt. I don't find it a problem... Quote
skeith Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 After viewing the video - I have to say that although Jarrett said it in rather over the top fashion I basically agree with him. IT is not clear whether they had already started playing or not, but am I the only one who gets annoyed at concerts by photographers constantly making the clicking noises with the lens shutters and the lights flashing. What about the photographers that think it is ok to get between you the spectator and the band so that they can get the shot. Anyone got the Neil Young at Massey Hall? He says exactly the same thing except no four letter words. I have seen other jazz artists at concerts saying basically the same thing. I think Jarrett's statement while overly aggressive protects the audience. Quote
7/4 Posted July 28, 2007 Author Report Posted July 28, 2007 Yeah, he could have been nicer about it. I tend to wonder how bad the photography really was. Quote
Van Basten II Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 Watching the video, i did not mind the complaints about the people who were taking pictures, however to say that it's a goddamn city because of a few bad apples shows that this guy is living is his own world and should learn about diplomacy.
