I've been listening this past week to the double-CD he did with Lee Konitz last year.

they were previewing a new talmor-konitz big band recording, made of portugese artists, as i recall, yet to be released, where the settings, very similar to the nonet, bring forth some of the most gorgeous konitz playing i have ever heard.

hope the big bander is available. it's on a portugese label, i think, with mainly fine young portugese players.

Talmor's work on co-led Steve Swallow date "L'Histoire du Clochard" is very nice, both playing and arranging (they re-did several Swallow compositions).

l'histoire' has a magnificent classy feel to it. some of it is very solemn. very heavy, very thoughtful, but certainly not heavyhanded music.
