Kalo Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 What I'm thinking of is covers that just don't match the music or artist at all. Something like this one: Quote
AndrewHill Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 Don Cherry's Where is Brooklyn? I still can't find Brooklyn in the cover. If BN would've released this one in the same time span as the other two, we could've had a kick ass Reid Miles cover instead. Quote
DukeCity Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 What I'm thinking of is covers that just don't match the music or artist at all. Something like this one: That cover may not match the style of music or the artist, but it pretty clearly matches the lyrics of the title tune: LOVE FOR SALE When the only sound in the empty street, Is the heavy tread of the heavy feet That belong to a lonesome cop I open shop. When the moon so long has been gazing down On the wayward ways of this wayward town. That her smile becomes a smirk, I go to work. Love for sale, Appetising young love for sale. Love that's fresh and still unspoiled, Love that's only slightly soiled, Love for sale. Who will buy? Who would like to sample my supply? Who's prepared to pay the price, For a trip to paradise? Love for sale Let the poets pipe of love in their childish way, I know every type of love Better far than they. If you want the thrill of love, I've been through the mill of love; Old love, new love Every love but true love Love for sale. Appetising young love for sale. If you want to buy my wares. Follow me and climb the stairs Love for sale. Love for sale. Quote

Follow me and climb the stairs Love for sale. Love for sale. I'm certainly familiar with those lyrics. But, come on, the album cover looks like it should be for some crappy lounge singer doing that tune, not a lyricless, avant-garde piano version. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 I reckon I have a few, but it's late. I'll look some out tomorrow. MG Quote
mikelz777 Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 It'a a Red Allen set with a picture of Red Nichols on the cover. Quote
AndrewHill Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 Looks like an LP of easy listening schlock I think I read somewhere (don't know where) that the cover photo was an attempt to 'soften' Hill's image. As soon as you play that record though, there's no easy listening there! Quote
