Can anyone name me some jazz artists or albums I should listen to. I just made one of my school's top jazz bands and wanna get into some more jazz, like listenin to solos and stuff like that. If you can reccomend something that would be fantastic.

By the way I'm doing very well, both musically and with life. I hope everyone is well, and look forward to talking to you more now that I'm on summer vacation woot woot!!!! :D

I recommend something easy that you might be able to pick up on one of your instruments.

Consider the Gerry Mulligan Quartet with Chet Baker ca. 1953, and Thelonious Monk on Riverside ca. 1958.

Some of the first jazz cds I bought was Time Out by Dave Brubeck, Jazz Impressions of a Black Orpheus by Vince Guaraldi and Search for the New Land by Lee Morgan.

Thanks a lot for all the reccomendations! I'm practicin this summer like a lot. ;) Lol I'm listenin' to Manteca pretty HOTT song. Well we're goin to Seattle this yr for a big clinic, it's called Western International Band Clinic, we attend it in Nov. They heard us at Midwest in Chicago, and they're like we want you to play at our confrence. So it's gonna be pretty amazing <3
