porcy62
Apropos of nothing, when I once mentioned to a friend I liked "classical" music, he was like "oh, like Led Zeppelin and stuff?", totally being serious on the confusion front... I think I agree with your friend.
7/4
If there's any place I'd goto for an opinion on modern composition, it's Organissimo.
rostasi
Apropos of nothing, when I once mentioned to a friend I liked "classical" music, he was like "oh, like Led Zeppelin and stuff?", totally being serious on the confusion front...Back when we had a music store, a radio station rep came by to check us out and was trying to get us to advertise on her station. She was befuddled when I told her that we don't sell the kinds of things that they play saying that we sold mostly avant-garde jazz and modern classical. She then said "Oh! but we do play that - well the "classical" part." Now I was wondering what the hell she was talking about. It turns out that she was referring to "classic rock." Trying to explain the difference to this bubblehead was fruitless.

AndrewHill
I wouldn't mind a classical forum; at the very least, maybe I'll be exposed to a new composer or work that I've never heard of before. That's how I've broaden my tastes and interests in jazz here.
